​I was born in Brooklyn in 1931 and have spent my entire life in New York City. My professional career was spent as a commercial artist but for the last 30 years I have painted watercolor landscapes and cityscapes. In recent years, my subjects have primarily been Manhattan locations. Pete's Tavern is one of the most prominent New York landmarks and has been a frequent subject of many artists and photographers. I recall warmly a number of special dinners I've enjoyed at Pete's Tavern over the years, so I was thrilled to undertake this project.
My painting, "Snowy Day At Pete's," was inspired by a photo taken by Michael Gerbino of ARCHIGRAFIKA who snapped a shot of the building during a heavy snowstorm in January 2022. I'm so proud that Pete's has decided to display my work on its 18th Street facade. I hope it will inspire all who pass by this magical corner of New York for many years to come.
